Stores Coordinator (Technician)

 

Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking a Stores Coordinator (Technician) to work out of our Mill Site location near Athabasca, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure that all the materials, equipment, and supplies necessary for Al-Pac operations, maintenance, reliability and  administration are available when and where they are required .  The job is also responsible to handle a wide variety of items such as heavy machinery, spare parts, safety equipment, tools, stationery and protective clothing, etc while operating in a safe and effective manner. For us, it's not just about coming to work and doing a job - as soon as you walk through the door, your career has purpose.

 

This is a short term contract with a 6 month duration.

Responsibilities 

  • Loading and unloading of inbound and outbound freight which includes materials, machinery and chemicals. 
  • Drive and operate light vehicle(s) and forklift. 
  • Monitor stocking levels & shelf-life inventory.
  • Put away parts into storage locations.
  • Process requisitions, issue, pick, package & move material; distribute parts for customer delivery. 
  • Review and recommend adjustments; accurate and timely data entry into the ERP system.
  • Delivery of equipment and materials to other business areas.
  • Maintain and clean & organized work area.
  • Safety in all activities.
     

Qualification

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience performing similar activities within a logistic environment.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license is required.
  • Experience operating a forklift is required.
  • A Journeyman Parts Ticket or Warehousing Technician Certificate is an asset.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods certificate is an asset.

  • Knowledge and understanding of provincial, national and international supply chains: including, but not limited to carriers such as railways, trucking, and shipping.
  • Problem solve and deliver customer centric solutions.
  • Ability to establish to maintain strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Implement continuous improvement opportunities to drive value for SCM.
  • Ensure all business needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
