Electrical Engineer or Technologist

Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking a Electrical Engineer or Technologist to work out of our Mill Site location. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing engineering duties for the Al-Pac facility, and equipment, with regards to design, reliability, maintainability, and upgrades. For us, it's not just about coming to work and doing a job - as soon as you walk through the door, your career has purpose.

Role Responsibilities

• Design Engineering – Assess, design, plan and coordinate activities for the maintenance, continued performance, and improvement, of mill equipment, utilities, structures, facilities, roads, earthworks, and other systems.
• Engineering Inspections - Carry out inspections to evaluate the quality of engineering works and / or the integrity of existing equipment, installations, and structures, and make recommendations on remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Engineering Standards Specification – Create and maintain engineering standards for internal and external use that comply with codes, regulations, best practices and Al-Pac requirements.  
• Professional Practice – Adhere to all APEGA requirements including informal mentoring and monitoring of E.I.Ts and Technologists.
• Participate in capital expenditures by developing operational and maintenance requirements.  
• Participate in strategic discussions for Al-Pac.  

Role Requirements

• Registered as a P.Eng with APEGA (or be eligible to register) or ASET registration 
• 2+ years progressive, related experience.
• Project Management experience, education and registration considered desirable.  
• Manufacturing, industrial plant and/or supply chain experience is desirable.

•  Knowledge and comprehension of applicable codes, regulations, and best practices (ASME, IEEE, CEC, API, ASTM, CSA, Building, OH&S etc).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external individuals and teams.  
• Ability to manage multiple, tasks and projects of varying complexity.
• Ability to make decisions and maintaining accountable.  
• Strong organizing and record management skills 
• Strong engineering, technical computer skills (AutoCad Suite, SAP etc) 
• Strong generalized computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, MS Teams etc)
